Louise Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun

Louise, Graphite, 3.5 X 5in/ 8.9 X 12.7cm, C.nick, 2013
I listed Louise Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun as one of my inspirations in this post, so I’m very happy to do a portrait of her. I love her style, which is odd because I don’t consider Rococo a great influence to my art. Her use of colour is, well, it does wonderful things to my synesthetic senses. Her paintings of people are expressive and their personalities really shine through. She is an artist I very much admire.

Louise Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun is one of the artists I admire most. Her paintings of people are expressive. Her use of colour does wonderful things to my synesthetic senses. Cloth is rendered exceptionally in her work, texture, colour, form, everything about it makes you want to reach out and touch it.
