Art Term of the Week

Rococo: 
An artistic style after Baroque in the 1700s. Characteristically very ornate, light, airy, delicate and with a lot of movement.  Rococo comes from rocaille meaning ‘rock work’. 
 
Artists: Louise Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun, Fragonard, François Boucher, and Jean-Antoine Watteau
